Patience - the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset Tiger's transformation and the way his friends eventually accept his (and their own) uniqueness. From the tiger-striped cover that begs to be petted to the ingenious pops of bright orange amid muted browns and grays, the award-winning illustrator does not disappoint. This "it's okay to be different" story stands out from other picture books on the topic thanks to Brown's delightfully clever illustrations and masterful compositions. One day, the stiff suits, dainty teas, and Victorian manners begin to bore him… and he has a very wild idea. Tiger lives in a perfectly fine world of prim and proper ladies and gentlemen. In this rom-com that is Legally Blonde meets The Bachelor, Sophie Gonzales writes a beautiful and hilarious queer love story, featuring a lovable cast, top-notch banter, and characters who are there for all the wrong reasons. NEVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER by Sophie Gonzales Jo's motherly nature is evident while flashes of the young and rebellious Jo also crop up. Jo's Boys revisit Plumfield after ten years and recall adventures of their own. Their growing up years are captured beautifully in Good Wives and later in Little Men, where Jo marries Mr Bhaer and finds herself the caretaker of a houseful of lively children at Plumfield School. With Little Women, Louisa May Alcott introduced the fabulous March sisters. From boisterous pillow fights on designated Saturdays to learning how to run a business, life at Plumfield is an unconventional but effective education at all times. Two homeless boys from Boston find themselves at Plumfield, a rural boarding school run by Jo and her husband, Mr Bhaer. Exploring themes of love, friendship, class and gender struggles - the book goes from light-hearted to serious, and back, but always with warmth at the heart of it all.Ĭlose on the heels of Little Women came American author Louisa May Alcott's Little Men, published in 1871. Set in New England, in the backdrop of the Civil War, it chronicles the lives of Jo, Beth, Meg and Amy-wildly different in temperament and interests, yet united by their love for each other and for their family and their struggles to survive and make their way in an ever-changing world. The cult classic tale of four sisters, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott has remained both beloved and relevant through the ages. It’s a wedding for a magazine, or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The bride The plus one The best man The wedding planner The bridesmaid The body I just can’t promise that what I’m about to do in my review of The Guest List will give you that foundation:Ī wedding celebration turns dark and deadly in this deliciously wicked and atmospheric thriller reminiscent of Agatha Christie* from the author of The Hunting Party. Most of you already know where this is going, and I just can’t. Here is the summary of the Guest List by Lucy Foley because my review… I can’t. His other stats were still a 1 which is worse than most children! The one thing the MC was really good at was finding the game like mechanics of the monsters in the dungeon in order to beat them. After he raised his defence stat he decided to raise his strength more. All the MC talked about was grinding in the dungeon and increasing his stats but he only looked at his stat sheet maybe 4 times in the whole book. He then switched his perk to defence and it shot up to 98 after a couple of weeks. He kept grinding until his strength was 68. Normally raising the stat 1 point would take weeks. When he went to the dungeon he rose from a 1 to a 7 in a single day. When he started on this world he was a 1 in every category. Which allowed his to grow the stat he designated very fast. The skill that the MC got when coming to this world was called accelerated growth. The skill list and stat list was laughably simple. There was a lot of talk about women "pushing their breasts into his arm" and non stop sexual innuendo, but not much action on that front. I felt like this was a pg-13 harem story. It was more of a light novel than a harem fantasy. I liked the MC and the story was very easy to read but it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. The new world has dungeons and everything one would expect. Guy dies and is offered a chance to go a new world with magic and mystical creatures. I found out about this book from the facebook group Harem Gamelit and it seemed interesting.
